Instagram Begins Testing Paid Subscriptions to Help Creators Earn Money

Posted on the 21 January 2022 by Geetikamalik

Back in June 2020, Facebook launched a subscription to help creators make money with the support of their community. Now the business model has been expanded to Instagram because the company announced the Instagram subscription.

With Instagram subscribers, Instagram aims to help the Creator on the platform “Develop deeper connections with their most involved followers and foster their recurring monthly income by providing customer access to exclusive content and benefits,” and, after followers to the Creator, Get the benefits of customer life, customer’s story, and customer badges. You can watch the video below by the Head of Instagram Mr. Adam Mosseri explained these features.

The subscription feature will allow the maker to unlock the “subscription” key on their Instagram profile and set the monthly price of their choice. And, citing its commitment to support the Platform Creator, Instagram said it would not charge this subscription from the Creator to 2023.

It is not clear when Instagram subscriptions will be launched globally, but if testing in the US runs smoothly, we expect features to start gliding widely in a few months.
