Inscryption Save File Location and how to Edit – Location

All saves are saved in the Steam folder, normally the path is this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Inscryption. But in case you installed it somewhere else, this is the generic path

Windows – Steam Save File Location: <Steam-folder>/steamapps\common\Inscryption

Inside this folder you should find two files: SaveFile.gwsave and SaveFile-Backup.gwsave, your save files. But you will only find them

You will only find them if you have ever saved a game. So if you haven’t already, go into the game and make your first save

Inscryption Save File Location and how to Edit – Edit

These are the steps to edit the save file

  1. First of all make a backup of SaveFile.gwsave
  2. Now open SaveFile.gwsave with a text editor like notepad
  3. As you will see there are quite a few lines and values to edit, you can investigate them, but we recommend that you go search (with Ctrl+F) for playerDeck, it is just below currentRun
  4. Under the line $rcontent you will see the names of the current cards in your deck, and you can replace them or add the ones you want.Of course, it respects the format, with the ” ” and commas, as it is before you edit anything
  5. If you change the number of cards in your deck, the value of $rlength also changes. That is, if you go from having 3 to 4 cards, make sure you leave “$rlength”: 4,
  6. Save and close the save file, start playing, and enjoy the changes

Try the ones you want, but we recommend:

  • “Ouroboros”,
  • “Geck”,
  • “FieldMouse”
