I spent the summer living in Arizona so that I can travel around all the bordering states and check out every hotel in the area. My husband and I put 5000 miles on the car doing so. For me, nothing is more inspiring then the desert and driving for 9 hours at a time, which actually went by quickly because it was so enchanting to look outside and see the changing landscapes.
I visited Santa Fe 10 years ago and stayed in a less than memorable place. This time, I decided to stay at the Inn of Five graces right in town. Websites showing the property were not very enticing. What did peak my interest was the fact that the property is part of Relais and Chateaux. I understood what their properties were like in places like the countryside of France and Italy, but was intrigued as to how that translated in New Mexico.
Five Graces was completely captivating from the moment I arrived. Even before that, the staff was friendly and warm over mere phone calls. When we arrived, they were all in the front desk area - very young, with warm smiles, with the feel of a big family. Each person pitches in with different tasks and loves the place like it’s their own.
