An inmate of the Kalutara Prison had died this morning following a clash between two group of inmates, prison sources said.
Police said that the 46-year-old deceased inmate named P.G. Sunil was a resident of Molkawa.
He had been imprisoned on the 22nd of this month on charges of theft.
The deceased was admitted to Teaching Hospital in Nagoda on Sunday and later, he had succumbed to injuries.
The body has been placed in the mortuary of Kalutara Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The Kalutara-North Police are investigating the incident.
