Picture a world where every significant moment is tattooed on your skin for ever. When Leora's father dies, she knows he deserves to have all his tattoos removed and made into a Skin Book to record his good life. But when she discovers that his ink has been edited and his book is incomplete, she wonders whether knew him at all.

First off, I loved the premise of this book. It reminded me of a book I read year ago, The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury only in that book, the worst sins and terrible stories of other people are etched on the man in questions skin. There are also echoes of Clive Barker's Books of Blood. The world building is perfect and the people and places in the book really came to vivid, memorable life. I loved the fact Crumbs uses Leora as the first person narrator. You really get close to her thoughts and feelings as everything she thought she knew about herself, her parents and the society she lives in starts to crumble. I loved the way the story ends and plan to immerse myself in the rest of the series.
