Before the start of the Holy week, the gang decided to visit Ingkumhan Falls which is all the way to Dimiao. Our folks live in Cortes so it’s going to be a very long journey. And it sure was!
But after seeing the place and noticing how other tourists enjoying the cold refreshing water, I told myself that it was definitely worth it. All the heat, the dust and the sore butt because of the long trip was definitely worth it.
Of all the waterfalls that I’ve been to in Bohol, Ingkumhan Falls in Dimiao is definitely my favorite. The road going to the falls were quite adventurous than the Mag-aso Falls in Antequera since you need to hike for a few minutes but it wasn’t as dangerous as going to Camugao Falls in Balilihan. The pool basin were smaller compared to Mag-aso Falls and has a bit scary aura because of the shades provided by the trees that is surrounding the falls. But unlike Mag-aso Falls and Camugao Falls, I feel like I am welcome, that we are all welcome there. I dunno, I can’t describe it fully but I definitely feel welcome there compared to the other falls in Bohol that I visited.
Some of the pictures across the internet looks amazing while the others (especially those that weren’t filtered or edited) looks scary. I was scared at first too, but looking at the enjoying tourists and when I tried dipping one of my foot in the water, I began to relax and all my reservations about the falls were erased. I love that it wasn’t too big as Mag-aso Falls so we were able to go near the falling water and let alone climb at the top. That experience reminds me of the Cambais Falls in Alegria Cebu.
Aside from the refreshing water and cool environment, the staffs were very friendly and accommodating too. They have small cottages that you can rent and a nearby store that you can buy some drinks and snacks too. Plus, you can send a request for a fresh buko for just Php25 each!
*I failed to take some descent pictures of the falls since I was too excited to dip myself to the cool water lol. I did my best to salvaged some photos that I took with my phone while inside a waterproof pouch but some of them we’re hopeless still looks like an eyesore. So I apologize.
How to get there
This one is going to be a bit tricky to explain since I was really preoccupied during our travel lol, so I’ll just give you some basic instructions. As recommended, it would really be great if you bring your own or rent a motorbike as going there would mean driving on some dusty rocky roads.
The starting point would be the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Tagbilaran City. From there, you need to travel straight to Dimiao Brgy Hall. Mostly, you’ll just go straight, but to be sure, here’s the map:
From there, you can ask some locals the direction going to Brgy. Bauhugan or better yet ask them directly how to to to Ingkumhan Falls.

Travel tips & info
- It’s best to go there using your own vehicle preferably motorbikes as it’s really very far plus the cemented road isn’t consistent.
- It’s best to stay whole day to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the cool water.
- They don’t have any specified time for closing, if they see that there’s still tourists, they will wait for you.
- There’s a lot of staffs and lifeguards (which all locals) too so you’ll definitely feel safe
- It is advisable that when you do the tarzan jump, be sure to be safe and don’t try it if you don’t know how to do it as they had an unfortunate accident pertaining to it before. It seems that the said tourist miscalculated and landed on the rocks instead of the water.
