So far, all the InFocus devices launched in India fall in entry level to mid-segment price bracket.
One of the smartphones that InFocus recently launched in India is M350. So let's check it out now:
Appearance: InFocus M350 measures 151.00 x 71.50 x 10.60 mm and weighs 146.00 grams. It has a 5.00 inch display with 720×1280 pixels resolution (294 PPI). The device has a nice matt finish curved back which makes the device feels comfortable and secure to hold. It also has a metallic casing or frame on the edge. There's a metal rim around the camera lens as well. The review device I got had black back cover. The bright and shiny metallic elements contrast pleasantly with the black cover and make the device look quite nice. Of course, M350 can't boast of possessing a premium appearance, but it manages to look sleek and stylish. The InFocus devices always give me a feeling of good built quality. They have that sturdy feel to them. I do hope that they manage to deliver the durability that they promise in appearance.
Specifications: All the InFocus devices that I have seen so far are equipped with an impressive set of specification. InFocus M350 is priced less than 8,000 Rs. And yet it comes equipped with 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6732 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 2500 non-removable battery and best of all, 8 MP rear as well as front facing camera.
InFocus M350 is a dual-SIM phone and takes micro-SIM. Its connectivity capabilities include Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G/LTE. The device does not have Wi-Fi Direct and NFC.
User Interface: Like all InFocus phones, M350 has Launcher+ User Interface which allows for interesting customizations like screen transitions. It also allows user to choose between Single Layer or Double Layer mode which switches the App Folder on or off. The app folder allows the apps to be rearranged as desired or sorted as per frequency of use, time of install or alphabetically. The Lock Screen has nice sparkly unlock effect and makes available four customizable shortcuts. In addition, there's a shortcut to access camera directly from the lock screen. The shortcuts above the Notification Panel can also be re-arranged as desired. The device also allows the use of some Lock Screen widgets. The launcher is easy to use and configure. But for those who want even more simplicity, there's also EZ Launcher.
Gesture and Motion Commands: The device has no gesture command except one in camera and the one that allows opening of Notification Panel by sweeping the finger downwards on the screen. But it allows some Motion Commands. These include Turn Over to Reject Call, Volume Quiet on Pickup, Shake to Next Call etc.
Camera Features: Camera is highlight of all InFocus phones. InFocusm M350 has 8 MP primary as well as secondary camera. The camera can be accessed directly from the Lock Screen and obeys voice and gesture commands. The camera modes include Live Photo Mode, Motion Track, Panorama Mode and Face Beauty Mode. The camera features include HDR, Continuous Shot (takes 40 or 99 shots in quick succession), Anti-Shake, Face Detection, Smile Shot, Auto-Scene Detection etc.
Pre-installed Apps: Besides the usual system apps and Google apps, the pre-installed apps include Torch, Note (a simple notes app), WPS Office for editing and viewing documents. The device also has MeituPic photo editor pre-installed. And as InFocus has partnered with Snapdeal in India, the Snapdeal apps also comes pre-installed on the device.
