As fuzzy, crunchy guitar riffs and ferocious drums stop and start behind him, Jamie Glass takes aim at how hard it is to make ends meet in our capital – ‘Dying by the living wage, trying to repress my rage’ – with a frustration we can all appreciate during a completely unnecessary cost-of-living crisis.
There follows a loud, instrumental breakdown complete with grunge-infused power-pop hooks – before an ever-more rapid and increasingly angry repeat of the chorus brings the infectious song to a perfect finish.
