Recently on Friday, the guild told the members that they are having a discussion with unnamed agency. Therefore, decision making is based on a potential agreement.

It has been around seven months that thousands of writers have dropped their agents. They have dropped their agents because they got failed in having a deal on a new franchise agreement. Therefore, the standoff has turned into a protracted legal battle.

On Friday, that is 1st November 2019, the Writers Guild of America gave an update to its members. They gave updates to the members through and email. Therefore, the email says that they are having successful discussions with unnamed agencies regarding the franchise.

All of them very confidentially ask about all this. And have also been honored for requests in part of building trusts. Because trust is a very important thing for the possibility of making deals. From the time of the re-election of Writers Guild, the western president David Goodman got a second two-year term with around 77% of membership votes. Further, the union agencies kept pressure to sign their code of conduct.

On Friday, the WGA also says that they are looking forward to making progress with the agencies. This is because they made so many deals with over the past several months. Therefore, the guild says that every franchised agency are working to systematize the sharing of contracts and other data. But in so many cases, we are there to work with software vendors to set up the data feeds.

WGA also said that they are going to prepare talks with Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Therefore, the talks will be regarding the Minimum Basic Agreement. In the mail of October 4, the WGA reiterated its stance on packaging fees noting. There have been reaffirmed by-election results and therefore, the agencies are going to make 10% of writers’ earnings.
