Moving forward to 1969, Indiana is about to retire until Basil’s daughter Helena (Waller-Bridge) arrives in search of the same legendary artefact. Meanwhile, Dr Voller has been searching for it too and now sees his chance to get his hands on it. This sees both sides needing to try and elude each other in the search for the final resting place of the item.

Verdict on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the latest adventure for the legendary adventurer Indiana Jones. It follows him in his retirement era struggling to fit into the modern world, when an old friend’s daughter relights his fire to hunt for treasure. All while coming face to face with a Nazi, he thought he killed years before.

For this latest adventure, we get to travel to an era where exploring the stars was deemed more important than exploring the past. This is used excellently in the 1969 setting where the world is waiting to see the astronauts land on the moon. When it comes to adventure, it is everything you would have come to expect from an Indiana Jones movie. It sees him in difficult situations escaping last minute using the resources around him to survive. We have a couple of people along the way, who add some comedy and spice to the mix.

On the villainous side of things, Dr Voller is an excellent villain with an impressive motivation. Well, it is at least one that would make perfect sense. We also get to meet some old friends along the way, while Indiana deals with his own problems. There is a use of the de-ageing technology for the opening sequence, which seems to work well.

Overall, this is an Indiana Jones movie. This isn’t going to be the one that would draw you into the franchise. However, the fans of the franchise can have a great time and enjoy the movie.

Final ThoughtsIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a fun addition to the franchise.
