Benoni is a town on the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa, some 26 kilometres (16 mi) east of Johannesburg- and it was the center of attraction today !

Heard of Aravelly Avanish !  -  he is just 18+  -  Aravelly Avanish Rao was picked by Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 IPL Auction.  He is a wicket-keeper batsman waiting to meet the legend MS Dhoni.

The 2024 ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup is an international limited-overs cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), currently being held in South Africa from 19 January to 11 February 2024.  It is the fifteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India are the defending champions.  The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, but its hosting was pulled in November 2023 after Sri Lanka Cricket was suspended by the ICC.

A few minutes ago, tension had eased out - 48.4  Mokoena to Saharan,  Short in length, on leg stump, tried to pull, perhaps gloved it as it went to square leg, fielder picked up and threw at bowling end, excellent take by Mokoena who broke the stumps, a dejected Saharan was walking out but Indians were sure!!

In the 1st Semi finals today – South Africa set a target of 245 with Lhuan-dre Pretorius † 76  &  Richard Seletswane  - 64.  India began disastrously but recovered miraculously with a 171 run partnership.

Indians are  the most successful team in the history of the men's Under-19 World Cup by far, are looking to win their sixth title.  In this edition, thus far, Musheer Khan and captain Uday Saharan have been  the two highest run-getters of the tournament and have scored 642 runs between them at a strike rate of 92.9 with three hundreds and as many fifties.  Saumy Pandey, India's vice-captain, has been the standout bowler for India with 16 wickets in five matches at a stunning average of 6.62 and economy rate of 2.17 - on both counts, the best in the tournament for all bowlers with a minimum of five wickets much akin to Ravindra Jadeja.

With a good score to chase, India faltered, Adarsh Singh was out 1st ball, Musheer khan followed at 8; Arshin Kulkarni at 25 and at 32 they were 4 down when Priyanshu Moliya got out – Sachin Dhas and Uday Saharan stitched a great 171 partnership.  Sadly Dhas missed his century by 4 runs,   but Saharan held the innings together, hit a crucial sixer at the end  and helped them to crossed the line. He was ran out when the scores were level. Saharan scored brilliant 81 and was the man of the match.
