In a rapid transition from the G League Finals to an NBA game, Celtics players JD Davison, Drew Peterson, Neemias Queta, and Jordan Walsh opted for additional playing time at the NBA level between Games 2 and 3 of the G League Finals.
Less than 20 hours after their G League game, these four players traveled from Oklahoma City to Boston and made an impact against the Charlotte Hornets, contributing 39 points in the Celtics’ 131-98 victory.
Queta emphasized the importance of building winning habits and gaining valuable NBA court experience, highlighting the significance of contributing to victories for their long-term development.
Walsh made a notable contribution by scoring his first two NBA 3-pointers, finishing with eight points, while Peterson mirrored his performance. Davison added seven points and showcased his playmaking abilities with seven assists, second only to Payton Pritchard’s 11 assists and career-high 31 points.
Pritchard commended the G League players’ progress and emphasized their impact off the bench, noting their continuous improvement with each return to Boston.
The chemistry among the G League call-ups was evident, with all four players closing the game on an 11-2 run, showcasing their familiarity and understanding of each other’s playing styles.
