In This Corner, Fiery Doritos Locos Tacos. In This Other Corner, the Challenger: McDonald’s Mighty Wings.

Let’s have a clean fight.

Man, what a time to be a junk food connoisseur.

The creativity of Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos is almost unmatched: it’s like watching an artist hitting their stride, where each new installment follows logically and builds upon the previous work, which was a work of genius to start with—sort of like if Vince Gilligan had worked his way up the ladder at Yum! Brands instead of creating Breaking Bad.

But wait: just as the Wendy’s Pretzel Burger seemed to be the summer’s main non-taco event, along comes the maybe-not-sleeping-but-sort-of-drowsy giant bearing bone-in chicken wings. Invest in napkins, my imaginary broker says. Should I have an imaginary broker? Questionable, I know.

Anyway: I’ll check back later and we’ll see who wins this little match—OH NO! LOOK OUT! WHO IS THAT, CLIMBING INTO THE RING? For cryin’ out loud, it’s a Burger King French Fry Burger! For a dollar!

A Burger King French Fry burger, for crying out loud.

Crazy.
