Given time, we'll all face storms. They're inevitable and too often, powerfully discouraging. Particularly when you see loved ones being pummeled by them and there's absolutely nothing, it seems, you can do to help them through it. It's completely frustrating.
I watched two people close to me go through their own storms over the holidays. One storm ending as no one hoped it would, the other not quite over but with blue skies appearing on the horizon.
The best advice to give anyone is to hold on. Just hold on. Don't let go, the storm will pass. And even if the aftermath seems devastating, hold on.
