[...] Gheorghiu continues to add new roles to her repertoire and says that there are more on the way over the next few years. In March this year, she made an acclaimed debut as Charlotte in Werther at the Vienna State Opera, performing the role again at the Salzburg Festival in August. Asked which other roles she has her eye on right now, she cites several operas: Puccini's Manon Lescaut, Verdi's Don Carlos, Otello and - "maybe" - Un Ballo in Maschera.
