Thoughts on In the Earth

Thoughts on In the Earth

In the Earth is a horror thriller that will bring the same style Ben Wheatley has bought to most of his films. An unusual experience that will leave you scratching your head, while trying to digest what you have just been through. The story will see the lead characters put through a lot of suffering from the people they meet along the way. With the mindset within the characters being left completely unsettled by everything going on within the film.

The messaging within the film could be read in different ways which will add plenty to the film. The locations in the forest being the crucial impact on what we experience. The performances in the film are wonderful showing the journey. Filled with pain, unsettled feeling and confusion they are going through. There will be a much need strobe lighting warning for this film, because the scenes we have this become very uncomfortable to watch, which is part of the experience, but can become too much at times.
