In a Perfect World

By Grace Peterson @GracePeterson3
After a long hiatus, I'm back. My apologies for the long delay. I don't know if there are still any interested readers out there but I'm going to write and see what happens. Just brief snippets so I won't take up too much of your time. Thank you for stopping by.
In a Perfect World

Did you know there is a fat little garden spider "guarding" my kitchen window? I suppose it has some kind of winter tolerance and a good appetite because it's been there for months, braving the nineties and now the twenty-something weather.
I'm not a fan of cold weather. Or spiders. But I do find it kind of endearing, catching glimpses of the little feller when I'm in the kitchen doing my stuff. I was going to get a photo of him but I didn't want you to judge me for my dirty window. (The photo above is an archive.)
I guess it's a matter of perspective, this spider thing. I mean, if the spider is just sitting there, minding its business, I'll just mind mine and it's all hunky dory. But if I'm surprised by it and it's surprised by me, we'll both freak out and chaos will ensue and someone will lose their life and I will use the word creepy a lot.
Life is like that. In a perfect world, we'll know what's out there and deal with it and hopefully do so with dignity and victory. It's life's little surprises that challenge us and force us to face our impulses and fears, right?
I hope your days bring no creepy surprises.
