Akemashite omedetou! (eng. Happy New Year)
Kyou wa getsuyoubi desu (eng. Today is Monday) and I know you are expecting some updates for my Japanese self-study sessions (or maybe not? hehe) now that I’m officially back in the blog after my holiday break. It’s just the start of the year plus it’s also my birth month so I should only be sharing positive vibes eh? But it can’t be help, *sad.
As a part of my 2017 birthday goals, I added there that I should start reviewing since I am targeting this year to finally start pursuing my dream job. Dang! I can’t believe I’ve been so lazy that after two months of reviewing I got distracted and abandoned it. And now I am paying that laziness big time. I’ve been avoiding the hassle of applying and doing job interviews (which isn’t really my favorite part of job hunting) for so long I can’t even remember how many years I’ve been avoiding it. I’m not getting any younger and I don’t want to disappoint myself especially my family so I promised to myself that I am going to be fearless this year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a free loader, haha. I have a job and I am earning, I actually got my mom a condo unit just near in the city but I am on the wrong job. The job is good, but I think I owe it to myself to pursue my first love, the job that I’ve been dreaming on having while I was still in College.
This was actually a pretty hard decision for me to make because I’m already on lesson 39 and I am really learning a lot. The fear is there ofcourse that if I stop, I might go backto the beginning because I might forget all those that I have learned. I can ofcourse still continue self-studying Japanese while at the same time reviewing but I think that wouldn’t be a wise idea and instead of just spending three months for reviewing, it might extend into a longer period of time. I want to be able to focus so I am taking a break from self-studying Japanese. Wait, that didn’t sound right.
You didn’t know this but aside from taking notes, I also did a voice recording to all the lessons that I took in Japanese. I learn a lot by reading rather than just listening but I found out that I can also concentrate and learn if I am doing my own voice recording rather than hearing other people’s voice. And these recordings are practically the only playlist I keep on listening now. So yep, I am not really ending learning Japanese, I am just not taking new lessons.
That’s it my friend. I guess it’s not really a bad news after all since I can still listen to my recordings if I’m not doing something important or I can even snatch a minute or two studying my notes if possible. If everything’s working out great, instead of three months, I might be able to come sooner than that. And yes, I will be doing the most awaited video updates when I’m back to studying Japanese.
