On October 16, 2013, Canon India Pvt Ltd. launched its first Ultralight Portable Scanner. This portable scanner has been named Image FORUMLA P-201 scanner. Along with this ultra-light scanner, Canon also introduced CaptureOnTouch, which is a mobile application to help consumers carry out scanning easily and conveniently while on the go. Using the ImageFORUMLA P-201 scanner and the CaptureOnTouch app, consumers can scan documents in various formats like PDF, JPEG etc. and share the scans conveniently via emails.
Speaking on this occasion Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President & CEO, Canon India Pvt Ltd, said, “Canon has always been at the forefront of bringing innovative products to customers. The new portable scanner with mobile application by Canon is going to change the way an individual manages documents. Canon has been successfully addressing the digitization requirements for governments and corporate for many years now. Also speaking on at the launch, Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President, Canon India said, “India is probably world’s largest analogue country where most of the important & critical information lies in files at homes, offices & godowns. While consumption of digital content is increasing manifolds with various smart devices, creation of content is still not within easy reach. Canon is redefining the market for scanners by launching a portable scanner for households. We expect to create a business of Rs. 15 crore in this segment of mobile scanning and targeting a total Digitization pie of Rs. 100 crore in 2014. This is 50% growth over 2013”.
