The greatest museum in the world found in Born Barcelona
Among the many splendid attractions over here, is the Picasso museum. Also known as the Museo Picasso, it holds the world’s largest Picasso collection. This place is visited by over a million art lovers every year.
The Museum is a fifteen minute fascinating walk from the Jaume I metro stop. Close by is also the Calle Montcada or Montcada Street, a place of outstanding beauty and one of the oldest surviving medieval streets of the city.
Even a textile museum in the Born Barcelona district
As it is originally the birthplace of the textile guilds, right by the Picasso Museo is also the famous Textile Museum, which also has a very delightful courtyard café.
Today, the Born Barcelona district is acknowledged to be the epicenter of trendy fashion shopping. No doubt that it is exclusive and expensive too, but it is just the place to go to hunt down that unique one-off outfit.
A unique park and an astounding atmosphere
The Ciutadella Park is a unique place and one of amazing beauty. It is partly circled by the Passeig de Circumval-lacio and runs alongside the Barcelona zoo which was once home to the world’s very first albino gorilla called Snowflake or copita de nieve as he was known in Spanish. There is a beautiful lake inside the park and picturesque gardens.
Violin makers, glass makers, exclusive designers, thirteenth-century medieval architecture, magnificent fountains and monuments, a surprise unfolding at every street corner, little wonder then that you just cannot afford to miss visiting Born Barcelona.
