If Carrie Preston Had 5 Minutes With The President

If Carrie Preston Had 5 Minutes With The PresidentCarrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) has accomplished a lot as an actress.  She’s on the hit HBO show True Blood and has a recurring role on the CBS show The Good Wife.  She got her acting diploma from Julliard School which helped her get her breakout role as Miranda in Shakespeare’s ”The Tempest” on Broadway.

Now you have probably seen Carrie in some big screen movies such as “My Best Friend’s Wedding”, “Mercury Rising”, The Legend of Bagger Vance”, “The Stepford Wives”, “Duplicity”, “Vicky Cristina Barelona” and “Doubt”.

During all of this she some how managed to find love and marry Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson.  She is also a director, producer and has her own production company called Daisy 3 pictures.

With a talented actress we always want to know what they would say/ask the president of the United States.  Well the Washington Scen was lucky enough to be able to ask her these questions.  The one I think is the most interesting is if she had five minutes with him what would she say:

“I would like to know what went through his head when he first took office and was faced with the economic crisis. As for issues I would like him to know about, I would draw attention to the erosion of arts education in the schools, which I believe is depriving kids of their full academic, emotional and developmental potential.”

I like how it’s a issue that everyone in America has in there head.  Now if she could only ask President Obama what would it be?

“How can you be opposed to discrimination against same-sex couples but not pro-actively in favor of marriage equality?”

Now everyone needs some advice on something so what advice would she give the president now that he has a campaign that will be happening soon?

“ I would hope that he would admit the places where he fell short, while also presenting us with specifics about what he wants to address in his next term. I also think it would be wise to not focus on erasing the partisan gap, so much, and, instead, be strong and decisive about what the Democratic Party can and will do. “

Very interesting indeed.  Now we are all wide aware that Carrie has been to many places but what is her favorite place that she would want to send the President to for one day?

“I would send him to the top of Mariner’s Ridge on Oahu in Hawaii, because I’m sure he’s been there before and would love to be reminded of the beauty of his home state. Sometimes going back to where you came from refocuses you to your original dreams.”

Now would Carrie ever think about getting into a career in the political side of things??  Here is her answer to that.

“I’ve already got my hands full with Hollywood politics, so that’s about all I can handle!  But I’m hopeful that some good folks have skin thick enough to work there; I just hope they also have good memories — of a time of freedom with character.”

This whole interview on how she would interact with the president was very interesting.  What are your thoughts on this?? Tell us below!
