Ice the Dog’s Encounter With Goats In Gerês

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Saturday marked an occasion in Ice the Dog’s young life: he had an up close and personal encounter with a merry band of roving goats in the national park. We saw them round the bend of the road followed by a truck, and at first we thought the truck was herding them, but no — it was part of the traffic.

Ice has seen goats before — in a little field near our house — but he wasn’t this close and they weren’t this free. Neither party seemed to know what to do on the bridge.

Friend or foe?

As the truck continued across the bridge the goats decided the garbage bins were far more interesting (clearly they know the area). They left Ice looking rather confused at what just happened. They turned to look at us as if to say: “Meh. Tourists!”
