Over the last year I have learned firsthand what it means to build business in Canada, from an idea on the back of a napkin to an incredible team with a successful product, paying customers, and a pre-seed round under our belts. Now I’m ready to broaden my impact on the global stage – I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been chosen to be a member of the 2019 G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA) Canadian Delegation to Japan!
The G20 YEA is a collective of organizations from the G20 countries, dedicated to promoting youth entrepreneurship and fostering global connections between young entrepreneurs. The Canadian delegation to Fukuoka will be led by Futurpreneur, one of the founding members of the YEA, an organization that fuels young enterprise in Canada. Since 2010, the alliance has brought together hundreds of young entrepreneurs from around the world to a Summit, to share their ideas for change with the B20 and G20 leaders.

As a relatively young founder (I was 24 when we launched), I’ve benefitted from youth-oriented programs that have been launchpads for me to grow my business, now and throughout my career. Last year, as a member of Next 36, my co-founders and I had the opportunity to learn from top entrepreneurs in Canada and create a strong foundation for Crescendo. Before that, being a Microsoft Student Partner was my in-road to an amazing journey at Microsoft, where I worked on AI for Good initiatives and created online courses for developers around the globe. In 2016 I had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a private roundtable about education in Canada. I strongly believe that empowering and advocating for youth can have a great impact on our world, and I’m honoured to now have been chosen to be part of the Canadian G20 YEA delegation to Fukuoka.
Stay tuned, I will be sharing updates from the journey on this blog, as well as on my Twitter and Instagram accounts. If you are a young entrepreneur in Canada and have an idea of how our governments can foster innovation and empower youth to create social change, get in touch and let’s talk about how I can help bring your ideas to the Summit!
