I teaser which was released almost a week ago has set new benchmark for South Indian films in terms of online views record. The teaser is just shy of touching 5 Million views making it the most viewed teaser ever among South Indian films. The previous best was Kochadaiyaan at 4.8 Million views but it one must remember that it was promoted on a national platform as a ‘multi-language’ film unlike I which is so far viewed purely as a Tamil film.
I is directed by Shankar and it is the directors next “big budget” film after Robo. This has always been the calling card of the film but post the unveiling of the teaser it has truly become the behemoth everyone expected it to be when announced. Vikram could surely do well currently with a massive success in I as he is no longer the box office star that he used to be many years ago. I is slated to release for Diwali in October.
