As a big supporter of marriage between a man and a woman; I was glad when my home country declared its anti-gay laws but after I saw the news today, I officially hate this law.
Why?
Good question..
I read this morning that a mob of men went from house to house beating homosexuals. This law has started this gay hunt in Nigeria and I hate it. Gay people in my country are already ostracized as it is but for common citizens to take laws into their hands to beat these people are unacceptable.
When this law was instituted, someone said that this would start up a situation similar to the Salem Witch Hunt, I disagreed but they were right. Look at what is starting to happen. I am appalled by this anti-gay mob guys. Appalled is an understatement.
All Nigerians deserve the right to treated as a human being first before they are known by their sexual orientation. Yes, they are homosexuals but what about their rights as human beings. These anti-gay mob guys need to the prosecuted for their actions. The law did not authorize any Nigerian citizen to go house to house to beat any homosexuals. These guys acted outside the law and need to be severely punished.
I hate homosexuality but homosexuals are people not animals and they deserve basic human rights too for the fact that they are human. This gay hunt craziness needs to stop. If this law is going to deny people their basic right as human beings then this law needs to be ABOLISHED.
Going house to house beating people is unacceptable and I will need never support this MADNESS.
