I Need Help Packing

Big news: I'm moving!
Well it may not be big news to you but its certainly big news for me. After spending three years in a little box apartment, we're going to be moving in about two weeks! We decided to wait until after Carnival to move. The new apartment is on the fourth floor, and is big enough that we won't be tripping over each other and each others stuff.
The rooms doesn't have any closet space so we're going to install closets on our own. But it's a really nice place, my only issue is the kitchen is a little too small which sucks since my business is baking but I'll deal. The really great thing is that we have a balcony. I could totally see myself doing yoga out on the balcony on mornings and curling up with a book on evenings.
Now all we have to do is pack up all our stuff, and we've got a lot of stuff! I'm excited to move to a different location but it's really hectic trying to basically pack your life in boxes. In my 26 years of living this is just my 3rd move so I'm not good at packing, I don't know anything about packing actually. I mean I can pack a weekend bag but when it comes to packing up my life, I have no clue what to do. So I will just get stressed out and throw things into boxes and things are sure to get broken that way.
So let me know what is the best way to pack up for a move. Like how are you supposed to pack glass vases or picture frames? Boxes or bags? Do you wash the sheet you slept on the night before the move in the new apartment or wash it before you leave? How to organize the boxes you packed so when you get to the new apartment you don't have to look through every box for the what you're looking for?
