I live about an hour outside of London, which was where I got my degree in Digital Media (tip: don’t commute to London!). But before that, my interest in anime started back in high school; my high school had no cliques and everyone was the same, so I couldn’t really talk about my new hobby to anyone. Fast forward 5 years later, during my time at college…I started to get into anime properly, plus I could find some people to talk to. Plus I gathered the strength to attend a con in London. Then later I gathered more strength to meet my US friends to attend a huge con in Atlanta, which was really fun……and very expensive!
When it comes to anime though, I started off liking comedy, fantasy and even magical girl shows. But in time, my interests went on to school and slice-of-life…still watch what I did before though. As for any other genres, I’m very very very flexible………except mecha, which is where I draw the line.
Likes: MMORPGs, Haruki Murakami books, Mark Rothko, Mystery Science Theater 3000, trance music, trashy reality TV.
Hates: my epilepsy, Hipsters, British politics, my neighbor downstairs.
Worst dub: K-on! Dollars are not yen!!
Worst crime in anime: How the UK company who licensed Madoka Magica (Manga UK) refused to play the ED theme and chose to roll horrible pink and white credits instead!
I wish I read more manga; I just don’t get around to it. Poke me some more, and just maybe I will.
Aside from that, I’ll be here reviewing episodic anime, starting in the summer, for Organization ASG (oh wait, we call it Organisation here because we’re dumb and we’re British!).
