Story: I Believe in Santa starts when journalist Lisa (Moore) meets lawyer Tom (Ducey). The two go through the holidays after meeting on July 4th weekend creating a wonderful relationship involving Lisa’s daughter Ella (McGraw).
However, when Christmas comes, Lisa finds it difficult to deal with Tom’s obsession with Christmas and Santa. Tom still believes in Santa and the magic he stands for around Christmas, leading to the first testing argument between the two.
Verdict on I Believe in Santa
I Believe in Santa is a romantic comedy that follows a new couple that feels like everything is going smoothly. But when Christmas comes it sees the pair facing a problem as one believes in Christmas more than the other believes they can.
This is a fun comedy that shows how the Christmas spirit can take over people. It focuses on how things could be easier to believe in something completely false to bring happiness to life. This is played completely seriously by John Ducey, which brings happiness and joy to the performance. Christina Moore shows the hesitant figure that everyone would have in the same situation.
There is one stand-out line in the movie. It sees Lisa going ‘My boyfriend believes in Santa’. To which, a taxi driver replies, ‘My wife believes in astronomy’.
