Hundred Reasons have shared new single ‘Glorious Sunset’ – their first new material in 15 years and the opening track on their new album of the same name (to be released via SO Recordings on 24 February, 2023).

Opening with some ’80s-inspired synths and a rhythm section that reminds us of Jimmy Eat World, it’s not long before Colin Doran’s distinctive growl comes roaring in – delivering powerful and potent lyrics about saying goodbye to his mother following her four-year battle with cancer: ‘I don’t think it’s ever been this cold outside’ ‘I wish we found a way’. The melodic alt-rock moments the band are famed for then take over and you can hear the emotion taking over.

Colin said: ‘The title of the song took on a new meaning as the song talks about being relieved that someone you love is no longer suffering. The sunset refers to the light that many people say they see when they die’. It’s a deeply personal piece that shows the band finding comfort from the toughest times in what they do best.
