*Sigh* Can we just… honest to Christmas, I am at a loss for words when it comes to Hugh Jackman and Debbora-Lee Furness. I’m not, that’s a lie – I have words, they are just so effusive and adoring it would leave you all with stomach aches.
The Logan star and his bad@ss wife have just celebrated 21 years of marriage – how many is that in Hollywood years? Hugh commemorated the milestone with the above IG and caption. I love that shot – they always look like they have so much fun together. Deb, who was just honored by the UN, and Hugh first met when he guest-starred on her show, Correlli and married about a year later. They have two kids, Oscar and Ava, as well as two pups, Allegra and Dali. So what is the secret to their union’s success? Hugh sings to Deb when she’s drunk… well, that and a whole mess of love and respect for each other.

The ‘Logan’ actor has been happily married to Deborra-Lee Furness – who he met on the set of TV show ‘Correlli’ – since 1996 and he believes singing show tunes was what made his wife fall for her, and even now she still loves listening to his voice.
He said: “I think she probably first fell in love with me when I sang ‘You and I’ from the musical ‘Chess’.
“Well, maybe not entirely because of that but it didn’t hurt my chances.
“Deb will still ask me to sing it for her at home, although she’s usually a bit tipsy.”
He gushed to The Lifestyle Library: “Meeting Deb was a blessing. We have a beautiful life together.
“There was something that clicked between us right away.
“It was the feeling you get when you sense this connection that tells you this is the kind of woman you want in your life.
“You don’t even think about it – you just know that it’s going to work between you and that’s exactly how it’s been ever since.
“I wasn’t even looking to settle down at the time, I was happily single.”

Throughout their marriage, they’ve endured countless rumors, most involving Hugh’s sexuality. I can’t even bring myself to list the ways poor Deb has been maligned, mostly ageism and misogynistic measures of beauty standards. They also struggled with fertility, Deb suffered two miscarriages before they accepted they would not be able to carry to term. This led to Oscar and Ava’s adoption, which Hugh said, felt like ‘destiny’, “From the moment we started the adoption process, all the anxiety went away. I don’t think of them as adopted – they’re our children… Obviously, biologically wasn’t the way we were meant to have children.” As far as I know, Deb and Hugh are as marvelous as they appear in interviews. In the 17 years that I have lusted after Hugh, I’ve only ever read one account of someone who said he was rude – and that was some guy who approached him in a random record shop, I think. (Yes – all of you getting ready to tell me stories of him being a jerk will break my heart into many, many pieces.)
When Hugh isn’t adoring his wife of two decades, he’s a superhero. No, that’s not a joke about his being Wolverine, that’s because he saves people from burning buildings. On their set of The Greatest Showman, Hugh was supposed to carry co-star Zac Efron from a burning building for a scene. However, during the scene, the pyrotechnics got too hot. After Hugh burst through the door with Zac in hand, the building later exploded, which means Hugh literally saved Zac from a fiery death. Zac said, “Hugh Jackman saving you from a burning building? It’s every girl’s dream.” I didn’t have that particular fantasy before, but I’ve just added it to the catalog.
