There are other things besides grapes that get harvested this time of year and HOPS are one of them. Dutchess Hops at Eastern View Nursery is the first commercial hop farm in the Hudson Valley. They supply many of the local brewers with hops. Keeping it all local is what it is all about.
Join Dutchess Hops, Saturday September 10th for their Hoptember Harvest Fest celebrating everything hoppy. There will be 30+ beverage vendors that include local craft breweries, cideries, distilleries, and Brotherhood Winery. There will also be about 20 or so local craft and food vendors.
Admission is $50. Don't balk at the price, it's all inclusive of tastes and food. Yes, you will be feasting on Hop Smoked Brisket, Hop Fries (hand cut fries soaked in IPA and sprinkled with hop infused salt) and some of the Hudson Valley Ribfest winners will be serving their hop smoked BBQ. There will be music by Buck Eye Rooster and Tall Country.
My friend Scott Perry from Rock 93.3 will be there. Make sure you say hi to him from me.
What is really special about Hoptember is that they donate a portion of the proceeds to Hope for Heros
To get tickets visit http://dutchesshops.com/event-tickets/ . There is also a VIP ticket available that allows you early admission at 11:30 and you get VIP sampling that those coming in at 1pm don't get to taste.
Enjoy Hoptember!
