Huawei’s most awaited smartphone Huawei P9 is set to enter Indian market on August 17th. This phone along with its Plus model were released in April, globally. Huawei is now hosting an event on 17th August in India where it will formally launch the p9 phone in India.
P9’s highlight is its 12MP dual camera setup that comes with collaboration with Lecia SUMMARIT. This setup promises to deliver exceptional image quality even in low-light conditions.
Huawei, currently the third largest smartphone manufacturer and China’s No.1 brand in terms of shipments is yet to set its footprint on a global scale. The company is riding high on the success of its Nexus 6P wants to take the brand further with its P9.
Huawei P9 Specs
P9 comes with a 5.2-inches display with 1080×1920p resolution a corning gorilla glass protection on top. The smartphone runs on a 2.5GHz octa-core octa-core HiSillicon Kirin 955 processor made by Huawei with quad-core Mali T880 MP4 GPU to handle Graphics.
Huawei P9 phone runs the Emotion UI on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with 2 variants.One has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage capacity. The other sports 4 GB of RAM with inbuilt storage of 64 GB. The handset also supports microSD card with capacity up to 256 GB.
The smartphone boasts of an almost bezel-less design and the camera bump present in almost all the smartphones, is not present and comes in 4 different colours namely Titanium Grey, Mystic Silver, Prestige Gold and Rose Gold.
The camera setup on P9 is Lecia SUMMARIT and these are Sony Sensors, one of them being IMX286. One camera captures images in RGB spectrum while the other one captures monochromatic (black and white) images. Hence, producing images with great details and clarity.

Connectivity options of the handset include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi , Bluetooth , GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The phone also incorporates a fingerprint sensor at the back, along with a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging support.
Huawei P9 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory costs 599 Euros/Approx Rs 45,500 while the 4GB RAM and 64GB model costs 649 EURO/Rs 49,000.

It will be interesting to see what pricing Huawei opts for in India, as India is a very price-sensitive market and slightly incorrect pricing may make a lot of difference.
