HTC has been struggling really hard to generate revenues with its highly priced Android Smart phones. Unfortunately, HTC is still standing on the same position from quite some time. By simply ignoring the low and mid segment, HTC made a blunder by launching its exorbitantly priced smart phones in market. Launching smart phones like HTC One M8 and similar ones at such a high pricing is not justifiable in comparison to the other Smartphone players in market. Hence it needs to work on its pricing as well. Focusing back on the low and mid segment consumers, HTC has recently launched HTC Desire 310 which comes out to be its low priced Android Smartphone.
Detailed understanding of HTC Desire 310:
1. Aesthetics: The trend of Smartphone is gradually shifting towards light weighed and thin in dimensions. However, HTC Desire 310 being small in size is rather overweight than it should be. With a thickness of 11.25mm and weighing at 140 grams, the phone will definitely make the user reminded of those Nokia beginner series mobile phones. The Smartphone measures at 132.4 x 68 x 11.3 mm. The phone is suitable for a great gripping due to efficient ergonomics. Under the rear cover, the user can easily find the slot for affixing battery. The phone being dual sim has two different slots for SIM Card and one for Memory Card. The contours of the phone ease handling of the Smartphone.
2. Screen: The 4.5 inch display Smartphone possesses a TFT capacitive touch screen. The size of pixel is 480 x 854. The screen is multi-touch in functionality and is equipped with HTC Sense UI 5.1.
3. Memory: HTC Desire 310 supports less internal memory capacity in comparison to other smart phones in same pricing range. With 4 GB Internal memory, the microSD memory card can expand and support the memory upto 32 GB. With 1 GB RAM, the user might face an issue in running Android based applications.
4. Camera: The camera quality of HTC Desire 310 is way inferior than the Smartphones present in the same segment. In the given price range, a rear camera of 5 MP and front camera of simply putting it as VGA is of no use. Instead other competitors are offering way superior camera quality in the same price range.
5. Processor and OS: HTC Desire 310 being the first budget Android phone is equipped with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. But it is not the customized Sense User Interface. The processor Quad Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A – 7 is quite inappropriate for such a price bracket. The other players are way ahead and have superior configurations in the same price range.
6. Battery: Finally discussing about the battery than the battery life is out of expectations. For supporting not upto 12 hours talk time even, the Smartphone lands into the disinterested range by the seekers. With Li – Ion 2000 mAh battery, the phone would not support talk time much. Also, it would result in hanging up majority of times.
Though have some positives, HTC Desire 310 did not keep upto the expectations of the masses. With low performing processor, heavy aesthetics, poor battery life, etc…HTC Desire 310 would find it difficult to stand and keep that retail space captured for a long time.
