HTC ChaCha was announced in 2011 in the month of february along with HTC Salsa. When it was launched several rumors about Facebook phone was passed around the web but ultimately all ended up with these phones launch. Both HTC ChaCha and Salsa have tight Facebook Integration as these are first phones with physical Facebook Button.
There’s only build difference between both HTC ChaCha and Salsa. HTC ChaCha comes along with Qwerty keypad and touch its also first phone running on Android with touch and type. While Salsa is fully touchscreen. Today we are taking review of HTC ChaCha. Surprised?
We know the phone is old little bit its not that old that we can’t take reveiw of it.
Hardware
HTC ChaCha comes along with 800 MHz MSM7227 Turbo (ARMv6) processor with 512MB of RAM. There’s also 512MB ROM but at last there is only 150MB left when you get phone in your hand. Its similar situation like Galaxy Y which have 180 MB usable Memory for installing apps. Overall hardware is good if we run heavy apps.
HTC ChaCha design is also good which provides better grip and is also scratch resistant. It have 64.6 x 114.4 x 10.7 mm dimensions and weighing around 124 gms.
Software
HTC ChaCha runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is currently used by most of the Android Phones available in the market. There’s HTC Sense which provides makeover from Android 2.3 gingerbread stock User Interface. You will have features such as flip to silence, customizable home screen and all your friends’ updates on Facebook and Twitter via Friend Stream, etc.
Camera
HTC ChaCha’s most excellent feature is its camera. It have both secondary and primary cameras of .3MP and 5Mp along with LED flash respectively. Its primary camera can record videos at 30 frames per second with other features like Auto Focus, Geo-tagging and Face Detection.
Display
As its touch and type so its display is small around 2.6 Inches. HTC ChaCha’s capacitive touchscreen have 256k colours and to protect it from any obstacles it is wrapped with Gorilla Glass. Display provides 480 x 320 Pixels of resolution which means crisp and sharp image on small screen.
HTC ChaCha have battery of 1250 mAh capacity which is satisfactory according to its features and screen size. For connectivity phone comes with Bluetooth, Wifi, USB and 3G.
