The HPHS girls soccer team took on archrival Deerfield on Thursday night in a pivotal CSL North matchup. But the real story from that night was how the team rallied together to raise $574 in support of assistant coach Alex Conejo and his wife’s battle with breast cancer. She has been in remission since January 2014, and Conejo was honored to see such an effort be made on behalf of his family and his wife’s struggle.
