How to Use Brewer’s Yeast for Growing Geraniums?

Geraniums are beautiful plants that can be grown indoors or outdoors. Particularly popular, they can adorn balconies and gardens. And like all plants, they need care and maintenance. Here is the ingredient that will make them more lush.

Geraniums come in several varieties. If these plants are so popular, it is because they undeniably bring a touch of elegance to balconies, gardens and interiors. Nevertheless, you can make them more lush by using a specific ingredient.

To grow geraniums, you don’t need to be an expert in botany. It is nevertheless important to take care to maintain and protect them well so that they flower properly. For this, you can use brewer’s yeast so that your geraniums benefit from a beautiful flowering.

Apart from its culinary use, brewer’s yeast is an ingredient that is full of beneficial properties, promoting plant growth. Indeed, the mineral salts and vitamins contained in this ingredient are excellent for geraniums.

All you have to do is pour two teaspoons of brewer’s yeast into 3 liters of water. Since then, you will get an excellent fertilizer for your geraniums which you can now use when watering. Indeed, you will soon notice the results on your geraniums which will look healthier after a few days. Brewer’s yeast is therefore a quick way to obtain lusher geraniums.

A few tips for thriving and more resistant geraniums

Like all plants, geraniums need to be well maintained by avoiding certain gestures.

Thus, it is necessary to think beforehand of the place in which you are going to place your geraniums as well as the exposure to the luminosity. Most geraniums can be displayed in full sun or partial shade.

Also remember to leave each plant a reasonable distance from the other so that each can flourish unhindered.. In addition, geraniums should be watered twice a week.

It is also advisable to remove the dry leaves once a year, preferably pruning them in the spring. In winter, remember to cover them with a winter veil to protect them from the cold. Negative temperatures are likely to harm geraniums.

Stimulate flowering of geraniums with iodine-based watering water

It is possible to fertilize your plantation, by adding an iodine-based solution to improve the flowering of geraniums. To do this, keep 1 liter of water at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours then add a drop of iodine. Note that your geranium may need more iodine if it is sick. In such a situation, add three drops of iodine to the water but without adding more so as not to attack the roots. Then, add 10 drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your mixture and stir everything. Your natural iodine-based fertilizer is finally ready.

Just be careful not to touch the leaf or stem of the plant when watering. In this case, use a cloth to wipe off the drops that have landed on it.

Thanks to these natural ingredients, you will be able to stimulate the flowering of geraniums more quickly. Whether it’s brewer’s yeast or iodine, your plants will benefit from optimal growth.
