The screenshots feature on an iOS-powered device can be very helpful sometimes. Here, we have discussed how to take a screenshot on iPhone.
Screenshot – often called screengrab- helps keep digital copies of important stuff on your screen. Let's say you have just received a text message, and you will love to keep it for reference's sake; you want to save an Instagram post you love or capture anything at all on your screen, taking a screenshot on your iPhone can come very handy.
The method to be considered depends on the type of iPhone you have, whether with a home button or not. However, taking a screenshot is easy on all iPhone models. You can press two buttons at once or use the AssistiveTouch.

How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone
As said earlier, taking a screenshot on iPhones differs for the types with the home button and types without one.
Early iPhone models up to the iPhone 8 Plus have the Home button and can easily take a screenshot. On the other hand, Apple iPhone models released recently like the iPhone X, XR, XS, 11, and 12 models don't have Home buttons; instead, they use Face ID instead of Touch ID.
Below, we have highlighted how to take a screenshot on different iPhone types.
Take Screenshot on iPhone Models without Home Button
All iPhone models that only allow closing apps by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and not pressing a button belong to this group. Here is how to take screenshots:
Ensure you are on a screen you would like to screenshot, then press the Power button (located on the right side of your phone) and the Volume Up button (located on the left) together, at once. Holding both buttons simultaneously will help you take a screenshot on all newer iPhone models.
Once you hold both keys, you notice a flash on the screen followed by an image of the screenshot you took, appearing in the bottom-left corner.
Screenshots are stored on your device and can be seen from the Photos app.

If you have a Home button on your iPhone and would love to take a screenshot, kindly follow the process below;
Ensure you are on a screen you would like to screenshot, then press the Power button (located on the right side of your phone) and the Home button (located at the bottom) together at once. Holding both buttons simultaneously will help you take a screenshot on older iPhone models.

Take Screenshot on iPhone Models without Pressing Buttons
Pressing two buttons simultaneously can be a lot of work for some people. If you belong to this category, you might want to consider using the AssistiveTouch feature.
AssistiveTouch feature on iOS ensures an easy way to perform some common tasks – such as taking a screenshot without pressing buttons or swipes. To use AssistiveTouch, you must enable and set it up to take screenshots.
Go to the Settings app, tap Accessibility >> Touch >> AssistiveTouch, and turn on the feature.
Once AssistiveTouch is turned on, please specify how you want it to take screenshots. Select Double-Tap and then Screenshot. You only need to double-tap the digital AssistiveTouch button to take a screenshot with this in place.
Like every other method, this method also stores screenshots on your device, and you can see them from the Photos app.
