Ways to stop weeds in block paving
There are three effective ways to stop weeds growing in block paving:-
Weeds killer products:
Using the weeds killer and burner regularly for removing the weeds from block paving gaps is important and must to do if you want to avoid them. There is a large variety of products available in the market for burning and killing the weeds. Permanent weed killers are also existing nowadays but they are very strong and harsh and put a bad effect on the surroundings of your lawn in the form of bad smells, or chemical clouds.
There are certain types of weed killers that can be used in getting rid of untidy weeds in between the block paving. These are recognized as selective and non-selective weed killers. Selective weed killers only act on the plants you want to destroy or remove, whereas, non-selective weed killers deteriorate and let go of everything in the surroundings. So, be very careful while selecting weed killers and burners.
One of the most effective and non-hazardous for soil and other plants at all is Glyphosate. It is commonly known as a Contact weed killer and does not get absorbed into the roots of the plants.
Next is Systemic weed killer, it is the best product for you if you want to kill the weeds along with the roots. It kills the weeds that are grown in between the block paving and other areas in your lawn.
The third one is used to permanently prevent the growth of the weeds. Its name is Residual weed killer, and it poisons the soil and stops it to welcome the further growth of weeds. Keep in mind that it can damage close plants and soil too unless its contents are removed completely from the soil.
There is also a weed killer that is available in the form of a spray bottle. It is commonly known as Spray weed killer. These spray weed killers are suitable for the home gardens and lawns, but if you have a bigger area then you must get a commercial spray for killing the weeds. Also, you can fill the spray bottles with any herbicide or weed killer liquids later.
Weeds burner products:
Weed burners are used for burning the weeds to stop them from growing. These are available in two forms in the market; gas and electricity operated. No doubt, they help get rid of weeds permanently but the procedure is time taking and a bit costly as compared to the chemical application on the weeds. Although the procedure is easy, you just have to walk and burn all the weeds in between the block paving rather than cutting and pulling them by hand.
Using salt:
Are you thinking that using salt to kill the weeds is just a joke?
No, it is not. Salt is a type of non-selective weed killer which is highly dangerous for the surrounding plants and soil too. You are advised to use it carefully on your weeds.
Salt can kill the weeds and stop their growth for about 4 to 6 months after the application. After that to keep weeds not growing again between the block paving you need to re-apply the salt.
