How to Stop Rust on Car
Can you stop rust on the car? Rust is caused by many factors but the most common that contributes to rust is, the accumulation of moisture-retaining dirt and debris in body panel sections, cavities and other areas on your car and the damage to paint and protective coatings caused by gravel and stone chips or minor traffic accidents. There are also environmental factors that influence the rate of rust on the car such as moisture, relative humidity, temperature, and air pollution. The accumulation of sand, dirt, and water on the underside of the body of the car will accelerate rust, also on the floor sections that have snow and ice trapped under the floor matting will not dry.
Rust is mostly accelerated in areas with high relative humidity, especially on those areas where the temperature is above freezing and where atmospheric pollution exists such as industrial pollution and on other areas where road salt is used. The presence of salt in the air in coastal areas, road salt can also accelerate the disintegration of paint surfaces.
Also, for those parts that are not properly ventilated, an increase in temperature will accelerate the rate of rust.
