Sleep with Curly Hair

Tips for sleeping with curly hair

  • Use a silk or satin pillowcase: Sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase can help to prevent frizz and breakage. These materials are gentle on the hair wigs and won't cause as much friction as cotton, which can rough up the hair cuticle.
  • Pineapple your hair: Gather your hair at the top of your head and secure it with a scrunchie or a silk scarf. This technique, known as "pineappling," helps to protect your curls while you sleep and can prevent them from getting squished or flattened.
  • Use a silk or satin bonnet: If you don't want to pineapple your hair, you can also use a silk or satin bonnet to protect your curly wig while you sleep. Simply pull your hair into the bonnet and secure it in place.
  • Apply a leave-in conditioner: Apply a leave-in conditioner or curl cream to your hair before you go to bed. This will help to keep your curls moisturized and defined, even as you sleep.
  • Avoid brushing or combing your hair: Brushing or combing curly hair can cause it to become frizzy and lose its shape. Instead, use your fingers to gently separate and shape your curls.

Remember, the key to sleeping with curly hair is to protect your curls and prevent them from getting squished or flattened while you sleep. Experiment with different techniques and products to find the ones that work best for your hair type and style.
