How to Save an Overly Salty Dish

This trick can be useful when making mash, pancake batter, mayonnaise, vinaigrette and even sweet recipes to balance out the flavors.

Some food products have a high salt content, including: olives, ham, cheese, shrimp and seafood, foie gras and soy sauce. If you want to incorporate them into your dishes, avoid adding salt or just a few pinches. In addition, garlic, oregano, rosemary, black pepper and curry are excellent spices and aromatic plants, if you want to replace salt in your dishes.
