How to Run Your Android and iOS Mobile Apps on Dell PC

Posted on the 06 January 2020 by Anees @ZulfiqarAAnees

Dell revealed that users of iOS devices would soon be able to migrate files from their Dell PC screens and communicate with their favorite mobile apps. This feature was previously only available on Android phones for the Mobile Connect app.

How Dell’s Mobile Connect App Works

Working adults, gamers, or just anyone using a PC knew the struggle to pick up their mobile devices to make phone calls using their computers. But the Mobile Connect feature of Dell has finally brought this battle to an end. Today, anyone who uses a compatible Dell device can make phone calls, send text, and receive notifications directly from their PC.

Initially, the app only allowed users to seamlessly integrate their communication apps into their computers. However, the latest version now provides an app mirroring function, which means that you can access and control your mobile apps on your PC just as you would if you used the app on your mobile device. The functionality of the app mirroring is currently only available to Android users and this Spring will come to iOS users.

Dell’s Mobile Connect also allows users to wirelessly transfer media from their phone to their PC, in addition to mirroring the app. Although Android users can transfer almost any media (images, videos, music, and documents), only photos and videos can be transferred by iOS users. Since wireless downloads on iOS phones are currently limited, you’ll need to use USB cables or cloud-based storage devices to move your music files and documents.

According to Dell, the app is available with Bluetooth purchased in January 2018 or later on XPS, Inspiron, Vostro and Alienware PCs. While, iOS 10 and above and Android 6 and above operating systems can use the companion mobile app.
