Recognize a counterfeit note using the touch method
Today’s world is full of scams and it can be easy to get ripped off if you’re not careful. This is why this trick will help you check if your banknotes are counterfeit. Fake banknotes are often 20 or 50 euro notes. First, you must look carefully at your banknote, then touch it and tilt it slightly to verify its authenticity. To the touch, you will notice the very particular texture of the paper of the banknotes. These are covered with a thin protective layer which makes them slightly crunchy when handled. Moreover, a genuine banknote is not completely smooth. By running your finger over it, you should feel a slight relief in the patterns and numbers. If you don’t feel this difference, it may be a fake note.
Then you can verify the authenticity of a ticket by looking at it. To do this, take it and observe it in transparency, you will see a watermark (a mark or a line), a security thread and the number that corresponds to the value of the note. Also, the watermark is visible only through transparency. The pattern of the ticket printing should also be watermarked. If you don’t see it, the ticket is probably fake. The security thread makes it possible to separate the banknote into two parts using a very thin ribbon inserted into the paper. Finally, the number that corresponds to the value of the banknote is displayed at the top left or right of the banknote. You will be able to see only part of the number when you look at one side of the banknote. When you look at the whole banknote in transparency, the two parts of the number are visible.
You can also tilt the bill moving up and down to observe a changing image. You will see a hologram on the silver band of the banknote for small denominations or on the silver holographic dot on the banknotes for large denominations
Other methods to detect counterfeit euro banknotes
There are counterfeit detectors. For example, an individual can use a detector pen, composed of a transparent and volatile ink. If you draw a bar with a marker on your ticket and it turns colored, you have a fake ticket. If it fades and fades, it’s a real ticket. These pens are available from 4 or 5 euros. There are also counterfeit detectors with a UV lamp. With this detector, it is possible to notice patterns that prove the authenticity of the banknote.
You are now ready to identify counterfeit banknotes by simply handling them, thanks to the TRI method.
