Do you wish to learn how to promote your brand on Youtube?
Well, that’s one of the most asked questions on the internet these days.
Considering the amount of revenue, careers and fame Youtube generates, I’m not surprised.
With over 2 billion users, primarily in the 18-34 age-group; Youtube literally is a cash-machine, isn’t it?
Let’s not waste any time and get started?
1. Create original, genuine content.
This goes without saying, doesn’t it?
No matter what industry your brand is in, “content” is always the first priority.
Without original, quality-content, even with million-dollar promotions, your audience wouldn’t subscribe to you.
On the contrary, even without promotions, high-quality, relevant content will always be helpful, both in the short and the long run.
2. Create content around “trending” topics
What I mean is, create your content related to whatever’s popular in current time.
E.g. Coronavirus!
This has multiple benefits.
First, you attract more viewers.
Secondly, you get mentioned in, quoted, and shared by others if your content is around a trending topic.
Again, you should do this regardless of your “industry”.
E.g. McDonalds (food), Ford (automobile), and Cottonelle (toilet paper) are three of the most opposite industries.
Yet, they all created content around Coronavirus.

The Think with Google blog will get you some more examples.
If billion-dollar brands are doing it, why not you?
3. Run Ads
This technically is the most “correct” answer to the question- “how to promote a brand on Youtube?”
Run paid ads.
Youtube Ads will increase your views, subscribers, and exposure.
However, it’s one of the most expensive ways to promote a brand on Youtube.
Ads too expensive for you?
You can also buy Youtube views cheap and directly.
There are companies offering as many as 500 views for less than $4.00.
Note that this isn’t the most “professional” way for Youtube growth, but it sure helps.
Your viewers are more likely to subscribe to you if you already have a good subscriber-base.
4. Collaborate with other Youtube channels
Find other channels, preferably in the same niche/industry as yourself.
Make a video in collaboration with the other channel(s).
Does this actually work?
Here’s proof-

(Source: Medium).
The Youtube channel- “How to make everything” collaborated with 2 other channels.
Andy George, the owner of the channel gained 15,000, 8,000 and 2,000 subscribers for the next 3 days!
This is one of the fastest and most effective ways to promote your brand on Youtube.
5. Giveaways
These have worked since the ancient times.
Give something away for free, people will love you.
Every big brand seems to do it, especially on Youtube.
You can ask people to share your videos, or the channel.
How you pick the winner is for you to decide.
What you giveaway doesn’t have to be expensive either, I’ve literally seen brands giveaway subscriptions to their own products.
6. Contests
These seem similar to giveaways, but aren’t the exact same thing.
You can organize contests which people need to enter.
These often require people to “do” something manually.
Maybe make their own videos, suggest tips, design something, the possibilities are limitless.
It may be free, or even require an entry fee.
Just ensure that the prize of the contest is multiple times bigger than the entry fee.
7. Sponsor events/channels
You can sponsor both online and offline events.
Just reach out to the event organizers if it’s an offline event.
It doesn’t always have to be expensive.
You can offer to stream the event live on your channel.
The organizers would get free exposure to your current subscribers, and you’d get exposure to the attendees.
Or, negotiate an acceptable fee/benefit.
Youtube has quite a few talk shows, series, and even news channels.
You can even pick individual channels in your niche, and sponsor their next video or episode.
8. Use Live Videos
I know what you’re thinking.
“I already know I should use live streaming, boring.”
Did you also know you can use the live videos from other channels for your brand promotions?
It’s not a very “professional” tactic, but works nonetheless.
Find channels in your niche hosting a live video.
Go to the comments section, and drop a genuine, authentic, non-spammy comment.
Feel free to repeat it, but with control. Do not spam.
I’ve often found users in the comments do check other channels, provided, your comment was creative enough.
9. Proper Optimization for CTR
Despite all your manual promotional efforts, organic growth is what matters at the end.
Now, there are a number of basic steps you can follow to increase that.
CTR means “click through rate”.
It’s the no. of times people see your thumbnail vs. the no. of times they actually click on it.
Just make sure:
- You’ve a descriptive and attractive thumbnail.
- The title should be creative, but not clickbait.
This is more important than you may think it to be.
Youtube generally recommends “similar channels” to its users.
So, if you’ve a good thumbnail and title, you can make Youtube promote you for free!
Final Words- How to promote your brand on Youtube?
Those were the top 10 tips on Youtube promotion folks.
Being honest? There’s no “science” to it.
In fact, nothing is guaranteed either.
The same tactics may work for some, but not for others.
However, these are the most generic, proven, and established ways to promote your brand on Youtube.
If you’d like to promote your brand off Youtube, that’s another story.
E.g. you can use Whatsapp groups, Instagram pages/influencers, and even blogs to promote your Youtube brand.
I’d love to know how you promote your Youtube brands. Do you feel there’s a better tactic I’ve missed? Just drop a comment, your feedback really matters.
