How to Plan an Unforgettable RV Road Trip in the Philippines

By Vinzsalvador23

The Philippines has many stunning camping destinations, making it one of the best places in the world to take an RV out on the road. From the tropical landscapes to the mountains and volcanoes, there's something for everyone. Plus how many people can say they went RVing across the Philippines? There are a few things to keep in mind when planning out your RV trip in the Philippines.

Where to Go

If you're looking to spend your days on the beach, surrounded by sand and sun then you'll want to visit spots like Ayoke Island, Borawan, or Anawangin Cove, a paradise that's only a few hours away from Manila. Another great beach to consider is Nagsasa Cove, just a few miles away from Anawangin. The only thing to keep in mind is the fact that they do not have electricity and you may even have a hard time finding cell service. If you're looking to get off the grid, it's the perfect spot.

If you're looking for a mountainous experience, then head to Tagaytay. Known for its mild climate and view of the Taal volcano, it's become a top tourist destination. You can stay near Taal Lake and take a dip in the water during the warm days.

Finding an RV

RVing is different in the Philippines than what North Americans are used to. It wasn't until 2010 that Carryboy announced it was going to debut RVs. Before then you could only find vans. If you're looking for an authentic motorhome experience, look into renting a Carryboy Motorhome which features a built-in toilet, shower, sofa bed, microwave, refrigerator, and TV.

It's probably going to feel smaller than other RVs but will still provide that home on the road feeling.

The Weather

The Philippines has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. With its crystal-clear blue water and green tropical trees, it's a true paradise. This alone makes for an unforgettable time. But you'll want to keep the weather in mind. When you think of vacation, you most likely think about going in the summer. The Philippines' peak season is actually November through April. This is when the country is most accessible, it's dry season, and the weather is perfect. You'll also miss the stickiness of the wet summers.

Stop by the Big Cities

While getting out of the cities is one of the main reasons that you go RVing, if you're in the Philippines there's so much to see in the cities as well. Stop by Manila or Cebu City. Experience the food, the shopping, and the nightlife. If possible, plan out your itinerary to include a day trip. Park the RV and explore the city life before heading back into the wilderness.

The Philippines has so much to offer. Look into camping destinations and put together an itinerary that's perfect for you. Whether it be spending a week laying on the white sand beaches of the coast or spending it up in the mountains, the options are endless and make for one unforgettable vacation.
