What to expect at Pastaval
Thinking of coming along to Pastaval but never taken part before and not sure what to expect? Then here's a dinky guide to what will be happening.
Buy your ticket in advance as we usually sell out so will not have tickets for sale on the day. If you've now purchased a ticket you don't need to pay anything else to get your mac and cheese, first though you need to show your ticket at the start venue on the day (Pie & brew in the city centre and the butterfly and the pig in Shawlands) so we can give you a Mac and cheese appreciation pack!
Inside you'll get bowls, forks and napkins as well as a map and scorecard to help you decide your favourite mac and cheese!
Take yourself and a bowl to each venue and get a taster portion of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is included in the price of the ticket, you only have to pay for drinks, and the choice is up to you.
Although they are only tasters they do mount up so take your time and enjoy the mac while visiting a selection of bars and restaurants in Glasgow.
Fill in your scorecard and bring it to us as the designated destination (Van Winkle in the city centre and the butterfly and the pig in Shawlands) so that we can count up the scores and pick the winner.
The winning venue will receive an astounding trophy to showcase their triumph!
On your scorecard is a feedback section, which is important to us to make Pastaval better each year.
Some responses to feedback from last year:
We would love to offer the ability to start and finish the pasta crawl in the order which suits you. We are looking into making an app which would help in this regard, but this year for the city centre crawl we do have a specific route order to minimise the likelihood of too many people arriving in a particular venue at the same time.
We would also love to offer a a ticket which included drinks as well but need to agree how this works with all participating locations. Hopefully we can have this in place for next year!
