Ice Candles
Repeat the procedure for making a basic candle but in place of a standard candle mould, use a cardboard carton.
Crushing the ice cubes
Break a few ice cubes into different sizes.
Molten wax poured over the ice
Put the crushed ice inside the carton.
Pour the molten wax over it.
Ice candle revealed
When the wax has solidified and the excess water has drained out, tear open the carton to reveal the ice candle.
Layered Multicoloured Candles
Repeat the procedure for making a basic candle but instead of filling the entire mold with one colour, fill one inch of it with one color.
Let it dry.
Then pour a second layer with a different color and so on.
Layered Candle
When the wax has solidified, pull the candle out of the mold.
Patterned Candles
Grease a plate and pour a thick layer of the melted wax on it and leave to cool. When the wax semi-solidifies cut out a strip that is tall and broad enough to go round the ordinary candle. Dip the strip in hot molten wax and quickly wrap it round the candle. Now, use a stencil knife to carve out the design of your choice on the layer of coloured wax in such a way that parts of the candle inside can be seen.
