It can sometimes seem difficult to keep on top of keeping your home clean and hygienic but Premium Clean are expert professional cleaners and want to help maintain a healthy, clean home, in between any professional cleaning you may need. They have put together their top tips for you below to help save time and money when it comes to your housework:
Dusting
Exposure to dust can actually be very bad for us and could cause a number of health problems from asthma to heart disease so its extra important for us to keep our homes relatively dust free! We would recommend fortnightly dusting of any surfaces such as shelving using a microfibre cloth – there is no need to use chemical cleaners such as polish, but you can do this every now and then if you prefer to. Ensure you include the items on the shelves such as photo frames or ornaments.
We would also recommend a monthly dusting of your ceilings – you can do this using a feather duster and won’t take you long, but it is important to complete a thorough dusting of the rooms AFTER you have completed the ceiling so that any dust that has fallen is picked up too.
Vacuuming is also a great way to help keep your home dust free.
Floors
Our floors are prone to collecting bacteria particularly if you have a home with pets or allow shoes inside your home so it’s important to regularly clean them. Carpets should be vacuumed at least 2 or 3 times a week depending on how much traffic they endure and once a week you should fit a nozzle and get to all the edges and along the skirting boards. We would highly recommend investing in a decent hoover as they can suck up to 5 times more dust than a less high quality one.
Any hard flooring should also be frequently vacuumed but also steam cleaned, ideally fortnightly or more, but once a month should also be enough. When steam cleaning your hard flooring, ensure that you vacuum first and if the floor is particularly mucky, drying it with a cloth or towel can help to pick up any remaining dirt that has been left behind.
Bathroom/s
Unsurprisingly, our bathrooms can be one of the most unhygienic places in our homes and usually require a weekly wipe over which should involve cleaning the bath/shower and sink with a bathroom cleaner, bleaching and scrubbing of the toilet and the floor. Floor wipes can be great to clean bathroom floors as usually the area isn’t so big so it can be done relatively quickly. Don’t forget to anti-bac the toilet flush and door handles and to clean any mirrors as a smudgy mirror can be the first thing a guest will notice even if the rest of the bathroom is sparkling clean.
Deep Clean
Nothing compares to a professional deep clean of your home as professional cleaners like Premium Clean use high quality products and machinery that you do not have access to. A six monthly or yearly deep clean of your property will help to keep it cleaner and more hygienic throughout the whole year.
