With freezing temps sweeping across most of the country, it’s safe to say many of us are have started the new year with cold hands and feet. And since Spring still seems like a distant dream, we could all use a few ideas for ways to warm-up this Winter. Despite growing up in the Midwest, now living in Atlanta the last 3 years, a lot of my girlfriends can't handle when the temps drop to a mere 20 degrees outside.
To celebrate a little get together, I wanted to host a fun Winter Warm Up for all my gals pals to come over. So what do you need for a fun little gathering? Here are a few tips I'll share!
1. Throw pillows and blankets - A cozy party needs to be just that; cozy! My friends and I love to gather in my living room mainly because I have the world's comfiest couch. I also make sure that I keep it comfortable with oversized, super soft blankets and lots of fun throw pillows all around us! The more the merrier; and that includes girlfriends!
2. Food- My girls and I truly love eating. I always have a few snacks to enjoy while we chat which include popcorn, puppy chow and our favorites sandwiches from Wendy’s. It's true! We all can't get enough of their Spicy Chicken Sandwiches so I made to grab a few while I was out!
3. Fun Drinks - Drinks are just as important as food when hosting a party and I love creating signature cocktails for my gal pals. While ordering my food, I also thought I could get a few of their drinks as well and ordered their Strawberry Lemonade. It's made with real lemons, and strawberries for a truly great quality drinks and only available at Wendy's.
The best part is, the Strawberry Lemonade makes for a great mixer with Bacardi spirits! I added Bacardi Limon to our lemonade as well as a strawberry to garnish and voila! Simple and refreshing until the last drop! We named them our Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade Spritzers and loved incorporating them into our night.
4. Comfy Attire- If there is one thing that is a must for me, it's making sure not only to have the proper decor, plus food and drinks but also, you want to BE comfortable. I always tell my girlfriends to just come over in what makes them comfortable; soft pajamas pants, sweatshirts, leggings and slippers! It sounds silly but hey- when it's your best gals, they truly don't care what you wear!
It's super simple! My girlfriends loved that we were able to have time to get together and catch up, plus adding some detailing touches made this little warm up fun. Who doesn't love gathering around a cozy couch with blankets and talking to your best friends, especially when it includes delicious food from one our favorite restaurants!
