How to Go to Kalanggaman Island

Kalanggaman Island is easily accessible from either Cebu or Manila.

Via Manila

  • There are regular flights from Manila to Tacloban, book early to get the lowest possible airfare.
  • From Tacloban, make your way to the van terminals of either Duptours or Van Vans.
  • From either terminal, board a van bound for Palompon. Fare is approximately P154 one way and the trip takes around 3.5 hours.
  • Once in Palompon, make your way to the tourism office near Freedom park.
  • Register and rent a boat at the office. A boat for up to 15 passengers costs P3000, for up to 25 passengers P3500 and for up to 30 passengers P4000.

Via Cebu
  • From the city, make your way to Cokaliong office and buy a ticket for Palompon. Price range is from P310 to P1995 depending on class.
  • Board the ferry going to Palompon. There are ferries departing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM. The ferry leaving on Sundays departs at 12:00 PM. The trip takes approximately 5.5 hours.
  • After arriving in Palompon, make your way to the tourism office.
  • Register and rent a boat at the office. A boat for up to 15 passengers costs P3000, for up to 25 passengers P3500 and for up to 30 passengers P4000.

If you plan to visit Kalanggaman, better to go during the summer months from March to May. If you're traveling alone, try joining a bigger group and better to go during the weekends.
